I did reinstall fuse 43...This is what happened..
After car started I put fuse in with car running..I got all my instr. back but alarm came on for about 20 secs than stopped..Car stayed on... Not wanting to risk anything I pulled the fuse.while car was running.....Car ran normal..I had instr. and full power steering ..When I turned it off, daytime running lights and rear brake lights stayed on... Went to start car 10 mins later...Would not start.....Put fuse 43 back in...Still would not start....Waited about a minute..Pulled fuse 43, went to start, and it started.. Using the car this way sparingly until I get it diagnosed....Leaving fuse 43 out... |

My X didn't have the High Instrument cluster and I never activated the OBC code on my E34. |

I wish I knew what you guys were talking about with all this tech stuff...
One of my other cars is an old corvette convertible with a fully forged motor matted to a 4 speed..I'm old school..I have no idea about scanners or anything.. My X5, I'm still driving around with fuse 43 out so the car will start.....I'm bringing it in this week to someone who should be able to diagnose it....Like I said, should. Of course now I have an antifreeze leak and it turns out the valley pan needs replacing..Wonderful...I wouldn't even attempt this....Meanwhile to change an intake and gasket on my vette I can do no problem.. This will be the second time this manifold will come off....First time was to repair and oil leak... I bought this X5 almost 5 years ago..It was a one owner car with 100K on it....Great looking truck....M edition has the wide fender flares which you don't see and the 20 inch wheels with the five star rim... Always took care of it but now its just getting to be a money pit somewhat.. Like I said I'm not a tech guy....I don't understand all this scanner nonsense.. This is my second BMW..My first was an 02 330 ci 5 speed that never never gave problems like this X5....Between constant electrical problems to oil burning to oil leaks and now it needs a valley pan ( wonderful) I will never by a BMW truck again..... |
