I’m at 11.93. I’ll let it sit for a bit and report back :)
Yeh give her a while and it should go through once she’s over 12v
The battery is at 12.06 with the key in position 0 but drops to 11.9 when I switch the position 2 to run the scan tool.
Just give it a little longer, get it so it’s definitely over 12v when the key is turned.
Ok now I’ve got it hooked up to my other car, which is running, so I’ve got 12.5+ volts on my multimeter at the battery. And I’m still getting no communication :(
Ahh damn, I’m not sure what else to suggest. Try using the smart VIN function again? As maybe your initial thing was due to low voltage.
Sorry I’m just throwing out suggestions now |
Thanks so much for all of your help. I think I’m going to get a usb cable and try it using INPA.
Solved! I was able to reset the EWS/key code using INPA. All good now :)

I couldn't get my Foxwell to resync DDE & EWS a few months back when this happened to me. Had to tow it to the local indy and they used INPA too. I think you can do it with BMW Scanner but Windows updates killed mine at the time.

I was having the same problem but I updated my Foxwell with FoxAssist, restarted, used SmartVIN, and then it had a third option that said "Special Features" as a third option aside for "Diagnosis" and "Service", and I followed the EWS adjustment instructions. They were MUCH better this time and we had success in getting the car running. |
