Update Transmission Firmware
First time posting here. Nice to meet everyone. I'm an American living and working in Kuwait. I own two 2005 X5s, one 3.0i and one 4.4i, both of which I've made various upgrades and repairs to. I'm at a sticking point on upgrading my transmission.
The short version is I'm trying to use WinKFP to update the transmission. I have SP-Daten V65, but my transmission has apparently never been upgraded before since its creation in 2004. After asking WinKFP to update, I get an error 701 for determining compatible hardware types stating I need a new Sg D2 file. If you can help me with how to host pictures, I'll be happy to provide those. Any ideas? Thank you for any assistance. |
Use the Tapatalk app and you can post a picture of medium size or smaller unless you're a ViP then you can post multiple photos at once in original size.

DDE is in diesels car only (Digital Diesel Electronics) - are you selecting a DDE module on your petrol cars?

But I don't see the EGS in the list. |
Is there a sub menu for GKE194? Is that not for N62 6 speeds? I def need to get my software updated as well.

7541027A.0PA is found in GKE194 folder.
Code:

My car is certainly not a diesel. Does the diesel and 4.4i use the same transmission? When searching the part number, I do come up with about as many results for 3.0d as I do 4.4i. I'll see what I can find in realoem later.
Other than toying a bit with INPA to reset faults and using it to fix a VTG issue, I haven't successfully used any of the other software I have. This is my first foray into "coding" or updating any modules. Thanks for any assistance. |
what's the point of updating the firmware here

If you've had some parts swapped out and coded (I'm using the term loosely) you can have the scanner pick up the other part when scanning in automatic (don't ask how I know..)[emoji850] and that's why the DDE shows up [emoji28]
