BMW Headlights Wiring

Hi guys,
I know most of us are struggling with the headlights wiring inside the headlights, like the peeling off the insulation.
I start a petition in this matter, to be able to make a complain to BMW USA, for a recall,
Please help me with this by signing the petition, on the link bellow and spread the word to many as possible to help make a change.
Thank you

What the hell are you talking about? Can I suggest you have somebody proof-read your post before posting? I can't understand it.

Clear to those that have had wiring issues or even worse, fires in their headlights. Wires lose insulation and short out, causing unit to fail.

Wasn't this mandated by the fatherland? Bio degradable wiring I mean. Might have to sue Germany. ;)

This affects soooo many German vehicles from the late 90's until about 2010, give or take a few years depending on the particular model.

Yes it was from a German environment group and that unexposed wire would use the "nice" insulation and the bean counters felt that a lot of the wires in the engine bay were NOT exposed....[emoji849][emoji2959]

I now understand....

As an input to this discussion. I owned a couple of Peugeot 405 Mi16's back in the late 90's. Peugeot had left the US and the cars remaining here were quite cheap. There was a lively group of Peugeot owners sharing info on-line like we do.

Anyway, the 405 was plagued with headlights whose US-spec plastic lenses oxidized and clouded up badly - often worse than what you see on 15-20 year old BMWs.

Somehow, the US Dept of Transportation caught wind of the issue and made Peugeot issue a recall on the lenses years after they left the market. We all got new lenses from former Peugeot dealers -some of whom were still servicing cars.

I don't know why something similar wouldn't work for this issue, or even the broken adjuster issue that plagues the E39s.

Luckily you can disassemble them well enough to cover just about every wire in high quality electrical tape. I did that to one of my headlights before I sold it. From what I've seen the two lights I have now have wiring in good condition.

Ugh..... found this problem on both headlights on my fixer upper today.

Efffing bullshoot.
