both methods work, thanks!

the only thing is that if it is in the forward position, whenever the compartment is opened the armrest slides back.

Remote control
The computer button on the turn signal

To do this, press:

I'm one of the :doh: crowd too - took me 5 months to realize I could dim the rear view mirror by turning the red alarm light. :tsk:
