Discontinued E53 parts

Hi all!

This is my first post on the portal but I've been a "ghost user" since last June when I bought my amazing black 2002 X5 3.0i M-Sport. I've read some very good advice here during this time, thanks everyone!

I know it's a long shot but I'm looking for parts to improve the looks of this lovely car. In particular, I'm looking for the extremely rare front bull bar (Part no. 51100018007) and underride protection (Part no. 51130392164).

I know these are very desirable and rare, but I've looked everywhere and don't want to use a non OEM bull bar because it would most likely trip my parking sensors.

Does anyone anywhere have these or know anyone anywhere who may have these parts and want to sell them? Maybe you know a secret place where they make discontinued parts for maniacs like me? I'm desperate :dunno:

I want my car's front to look a bit more like this:

My baby now looks like this

A member here has one of the under ride protections for sale in the FS section. There is also one on Ebay (US) for sale though they may be the same seller. They aren't cheap though.

They also weigh a ton. So fuel mileage will suffer. I was going to get under-ride at one point, and when I actually got it in my hands, I changed my mind. It is no joke piece of hardware. It also lowers ground clearance. So yea, not sure its totally worth it. Looks cool.

Oh, no, no. I don't want an even worse fuel mileage. And it's an SUV for a reason (unike all the slightly lifted hatchbacks they dare to call SUVs these days), so I want it to maintain its high road presence. Thanks for the info! Very valuable. I wouldn't have thought that it would have so much impact.

I WANT THAT BULL BAR THOUGH

After first maintenance where you have to remove the under cover you leave that bar on the shelf and convince yourself that you don't actually want it.

I can't wait to put that sentiment to the test. I want that under ride and will have it.. I'll make sure I do as much maintenance as possible before putting it on though. :D

OMG so true, the guy I almost bought it from, literally said that to me when I asked him why he is selling.

dont you lot start hating me but are these under guard bars really that rare i have one sat at work next to my toolbox been using it to hang things from

Finding one with the mounting hardware is the unicorn problem. Without the very specialized hardware, about all they are good for is hanging things off of. ;)

It has been, and will always be a (SAV) SPORTS ACTIVITY VEHICLE. :nanana:
