I would be more concerned about that corroded brake pipe.

Trace line from compressor. If there is no leak the air bag is bad.

Go to RealOEM and get the air suspension parts diagram. These are similar to the E39 system. I know on my E39, there are little air reservoirs that are tucked way up underneath car. One of mine had a leak that I chased thinking it was the bag or line. So, verify that those aren't an issue either.

It looks like the base or top is crooked. I would first just take it out and see.

It feels like somebody put the wrong side bag in and the index pin is holding it crooked
