Old faithful getting pinkeye
Three quick questions:
I seem to remember that when the xenon headlights start to turn pink or red they’re starting to fail ? Do we replace in pairs ? Good brand and source recommendation ? Thanks Mike Hey also, can I really ignor the screeching from my secondary air pump? Kinda pricey |
Yes, replace in pairs. Philips/Osram are good brands. Color change is a good indication one is going out.
You can ignore the SAP. But I think I would put in a used unit before I would ignore it. It will seize eventually and throw a code. Plus that 10-20 seconds of screeching at first startup of the day would tear at my soul. |
Mine sounded like a jet engine when it went bad. It was loud enough for my neighbor to ask one day what the hell was going on with my X5. https://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/im...palmsmiley.gif

Be aware that there are LOTS of "fake" D2S Xenon lamps out there for sale. If the price seems to be too cheap to be true, be suspicious...

On inspection, my old bulb turned cloudy and light output was probably down 25% when I replace it.
