Anyone know the 2004 4.8is on Bring a Trailer?

Nice! About 2k fewer miles than my 04 4.4i. Mine is probably eight or nine months younger since the 4.8 wasn't available until late spring or early summer 04, as I recall. Pano sunroof wasn't added until later in the MY too.

Thanks for posting. Will be watching that one.
|
I made a general inquiry to BaT today to sell one of my two 4.8's and was denied. What a joke.

BaT 4.8is auction
I almost posted my rig on BaT, two days ago.
I got cold feet! :dunno: |

Do not give it away! That’s my battle as well! |
I just weighed in with my $0.02. If this car sells for less than 16k I will be highly disappointed.

I think I'd want to see that one in person first. Plus them chrome wheels gotta go! That might add $600-$800 to have them refinished?!?! |
I am selling on there and I noticed that if they deny your car, they won't explain why. Email them back and ask. Typically it's a reserve. They take a lot of stuff at no reserve.
Part of me wants to list my 5 speed x5 on there to see what happens. |

No fault of the owner. -Chrome wheels, well that's personal preference. You want to change the finish, not need. -Cupholder tray is indeed a wear item. But let's be honest, the coating used there and on the door handles is a joke in terms of durability. Car look solid if you ask me. If it ain't 95k (adjusted) there's room for tid bits, just not overahauls. |

I'd certainly rather buy a good mechanical vehicle with good body in need of a few trim items rather than the other way around. Resonator being removed by one of the previous owners is interesting. But no maintenance history, other than battery and brake fluid, worries me. Sold by a dealer worries me. ^Says the guy who bought his imola sight unseen from a Buick dealership who took it in on trade. Then drove it home from California with no PPI. :bustingup If it's the right truck for the right buyer... how does the saying go? "There is an ass for every seat." :D |
No financial interest here, but just thought I'd mention that the car is being sold by an indy BMW shop/dealership in St. Louis, Bimmers R Us. I've had a couple of good dealings with them (though some of their online feedack is a little mixed ... but then, who's isn't these days?)
If I were interested in this car, I 'd give them a ring and talk to them directly. Best regards, Chris 2002 X5 3.0 (Titanium Silver) 2005 X5 3.0 (Jet Black) |
Sold for $26750!
That should make some 4.8iS owners pretty happy. Doesn't really apply to the humble 3.0 E53s I have (thought they both have lower mileage), but nice to see nonetheless. :-) Chris 2002 X5 3.0 (Titanium Silver) 2005 X5 3.0 (Jet Black) |

Holy crap! That's really nice E39 M5 money! Time to start buying and hoarding decent condition 4.8's. :D

Relatively well sold. Granted the market has changed since I got mine ~6 year ago. (50k miles)
Maybe color spec would have brought more? Lemans or TiSi maybe. |

An example would be E46 M3's. An imola red, phoenix yellow, or laguna seca blue are starting to bring big money. LSB in particular is very hard to find. |

Armrest seperation
What is the best way to fix the armrest separation issue? I have that issue on the drivers door.

If it's a common color, buying a replacement used unit is fairly cheap usually. If not then I would disassemble the door panel (after removing it obviously) and take just that piece to an auto upholstery shop. Can't imagine them charging more than $100 to fix it. Shoot you might be able to take them the whole door card and not have to disassemble it and they will do it all for you. |
