Has anyone loaded a motorcycle inside their X5?

I'm not talking about about towing/carrier-having/trailer-hitching it, I'm talking about loading the bike (500 lbs) inside the cabin. Also, I gotta mention that I'm not really worried about little damages on the X5 as it is my parts hauler (I don't want to offend some folks here that take care of their X5). So the question is can a 3.0 carry the load? What concerns should I have? Thanks in advance.

If it fits I’m not sure why not. Isn’t like you’re loading 2t of gravel. Two adult passengers can be 400#

Top of my head Coil springs might take a hit. And fitment unless partially disassembled. I drive a 4.8 and in more than one occasion I hauled to the airport I believe 4 adults and 6 fully loaded 50lbs luggage each. Comfort was great thanks to air struts.

Even the normal rear coil springs take the load quite easily. Actually the ride is better if there is some additional weight on the rear.

I got one of these in the back for my kids, but I don't think you are talking about a pocket rocket.

500 pounds - for sure, if it fits in there, the X will haul it. Mine is a 2005 4.4i and I used a cherry picker and some bad language to get an 800 pound tool box in mine and home with no issues. Note that I pushed the tool box as far towards the center of the X as I could, if that helped at all... but again, I went about 20 miles, probably less and no issue at all.

I had an Yamaha XS850 in the boot. Seats down, obviously had to take the forks and the rear wheel off the bike but she when in fine. Laid the forks And wheel down next to her and then shoved another spare 850 engine in next to it all. It was the length that was the killer really. Could have got away with just taking the forks off for the height maybe. But it made it flat bottomed pretty much without the wheels and front end.

Did about 30 miles with it in there down mostly Cornish lanes and a bit of fuel carriage way.

She didn’t bat an eyelid. Didn't even heat the compressor running to jack up the rear bags. Just had to take it easy around the corners as I was worried the bike would tip and got through a window lol

If I have to transport it like that again I’ll 100% take some old pillows to tape round the pointy bits though, or even get some little trailer straps and tie it down to where the rear seats Hinges when they fold Down

Edit: an XS850 is 569lbs and I had that plus another engine so must have been about 700lbs ish

Not an X5 but the load should be close enough.
