Welcome back!!! X5 looks good, Head and taillights need a polish, will really transform the look and it's fun too

A) It sounds funny  Not sure what is causing it, maybe try to use WD40 on some bolts and see if it goes away? Maybe it's the dampener itself or the bumpstop that is making this sound.

B)Check if your anti roll bar endlinks are tight. It could be control arms or cv axles but it might also be your topmounts.

C) If it would be a bad weld or mount it would be obvious but looking at the exhaust rubber it look like it is bent.

D) Not sure which panel you are talking about.

E) Sorry I can't help you with this one but maybe you can find it at RealOEM:

Update: Got the lock actuator replaced last night. Wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be (remember I’m a novice.) The exhaust mounts are gonna take a back seat for now because I discovered something a little troubling. Looks to be an engine oil leak but could be diff fluid. Also discovered that my right front CV axle is in definite need of replacement. But I’m more concerned about the leak since as far as I know it had all of them taken care of prior to me buying it (hence the mechanic’s lien — haha.) I’m concerned it may be the oil pan gasket, which if memory serves was about a $2k job on my old one.

The leak seems to be coming from above this little panel — only described in the EPC as “cover” (#2 at link here)

I checked the plug bolts and they’re right, and the mechanic said he changed the diff fluid before I bought it. Now I can’t remember if he said front or rear.

Here’s some more pics and a video (video pans from passenger side medially). You can see how tore up my boot is. Can’t believe I missed it when I was inspecting it. But I still feel like I got my money’s worth.

After the WD40 test, rear squeak is definitely bushings. Might as well give it new control arms. Exhaust is more than likely that rubber mount I figure. Parts are so cheap now I may as well try it, I figure.

The panel I’m referencing are the door panels. In this photo I highlight the plastic piece that has separated from the rest of the panel.

While I was at the salvage yard today I was able to take a look at another X5’s headliner attachment points and it looks like there are just a few screws at the rear of the sunroof I need to examine.

And the lights cleaned up amazing well with NuLens. I had an old W210 Mercedes years ago I tried headlight restorer on and was so disappointed I ended up just buying new ones.
