Drivers side door wont open

Drivers side door wont open. Have researched several different possible reasons BUT is there a possible solution without having to remove door panel?

Is this just from the inside or outside or both?

EODguy 07-24-2020 11:08 AM

Nope, it has to come off.

If you are lucky it could just be a quick fix of your current DHC but I would recommend you just replace it and do Andrew's fix to head off future issues.

Just make an appointment with your local BMW dealer and they'll fix it witout you having to take the door panel off.

Did you try pulling on the handle?LOL
panel has to come off,no way repairs made without taking panel off
but you can remotely lower window and open from inside door handle...

You can only remotely lower the window with the FOB only if you have that feature coded to the X.

BMW folks said today its a 24mm and its located at bottom of engine down from the oil pan drain plug WHICH come to find out, has been stripped. I sprayed some penetrating fluid on it, and tapped with a hammer-no dice. Will try to go up from a 8mm to a 9mm, try to tap it and and break it loose.Barring this, any suggestions?
BTW- this site is terrific-thanx for all the feedback! Begins to eliminate those exorbitant BMW repair costs!
