Replacement identification pieces, vaccum line, firewall plastic. pics
I Noticed these 2 items going thru my truck. The plastic piece that the positive battery terminal attaches to is broken and this vaccum line in the front of the engine. I cant find them on Realoem to replace them. Any help would be appreciated.
Also is their a place to purchase and download the service manual? I got one from Ebay but its not the real detailed one, like Bentley. Thanks all Jonathan aka Fixture https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...6d6319f0ef.jpghttps://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...7b715a5d48.jpg |
The answer to your first question is:
51718408769 Bulkhead engine compartment, top left. I'm betting your best deal is at a salvage yard. I don't know what vacuum line you're trying to show. I see a lot of stuff in that picture. |
Curved hard vacuum line that is broken off or at least seems broken off to me. Its not some kind of vent tube is it?

I believe that is the front differential vent. If so, then that is what the end of the vent looks like. You're not missing anything.
What motor is that? M52? I believe my front diff vent is in a different location on the M62. |
+1 That's the front diff vent
Also on a sad note, my diff vent doesn't have the printing on on it anymore [emoji28] Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk |
Its a 2006 M62.

The tube in front of the motor is definitely the front diff vent - nothing to be done there, that is normal. The cracked front bullhead plate looks almost like someone may have done that on purpose to replace the vacuum hose from the vac pump to the booster. I might not actually replace that, I might run over to my local hardware store and grab me some heavy plastic, heat it bend it to shape and make myself a patch that would close the hole and (continue) to make that vacuum hose serviceable in the future. As was mentioned above, I bet that sucker costa a pretty penny to be sure!

You've got a pretty good choice of LKQ yards in the Chicago area that should have what you need. I'd fabricate an access panel using some inner fender material and fasteners you can find for $3.00 at LKQ. |
Just got the drivers bulkhead piece for $50. Now on to all the other preventive/maintenance work that has been neglected.
