Must have to send in the ECU in the newer models. FOr my 01 it says that they send me a reprogrammer. Also, did you notice an increase in mileage??

Dear Ricky,

Thanks for your email.

The data represented in the graphs serves as an indication of expected benefits - and is not actual dynamometer results.

Pay closer attention to the actual stated figures rather than the graphs, as they are more accurate.

I have driven a few of these both 'before and after' the software modification - and you can definitely feel the additional performance. You will notice the car launches more aggressively, and holds the torque throughout the rev range.

Please let me know if you would like any further information.

Travis Cattach
Powerchip Inc.
That was in reply to the question broknlgs24 asked.

Quote:

Dear Ricky,

I have attached the instructions for programming the ECU with our serial programming system. This system enables you to communicate with your vehicle, download the stock software and have it emailed to us for modification.

Once we have made changes (only takes about 30 minutes), we send a new file back to you - to be uploaded into your vehicle.

And the process is complete.

Alternatively, you can remove the ECU yourself and overnight it to us for modification.

The ECU is located beneith a black plastic cover in the engine compartment (passanger side). You pull the lid off to expose the ECU and wiring. Then unplug the unit, and send it overnight to:
Powerchip Inc.
2209 Federal Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90064
(310) 235 1122

Please let m know if you have any other questions regarding your order.

Best Regards,

Travis Cattach
I have also attached the document he emailed me with instructions on how to use the serial programming interface. Actually no I won't attach it, because I dont know how to attach files in X5world. It won't give me the option to. Lame :(

If folks dig the Powerchip, I can do it for the groupbuy of the month and shoot out emails to Powerchip vendors to see what they'll do for the board.
