FCP fans ?

Any FCP Euro buyers here. :nanana:

I've tried doing the leave items in cart - see if they will send me a coupon .....

Is it just me, or I would say in the last 18-24 months, none of my orders I have placed...no coupons. -5-10% off saved is appreciated and it all goes back to them in one shape or another.

crystalworks 03-29-2021 07:54 PM

Just got 5% off an order. But had to leave it in the cart for over a week, think it was 8 or 9 days. Used to get it after a few days.

You got better patience than I do. After 4 days, I'm going to just check-out, as I'm just trying to cross one more thing off the honey-to-do-list

I hear you. I had time on my side. Was building an extensive parts list for the transmission swap on our E70 diesel and various other parts for our newly acquired F15 (including a trans service kit so I don't have to do that swap in my future ).

I just ordered a thermostat and water pump kit for my e90 from FCP.
Same price as ECS Tuning but with a lifetime warranty. Those die every 60K miles or so and at $420, the warranty may come in handy.
I've noticed a number of online retailers have cut back on coupons, like Harbor Freight.

I just spent $250 at FCP Euro a few minutes ago, could not find any coupons, but all things considered, they were still the best for me in this case.

I really like FCP Euro - even their "spam" regular emails are usually very interesting.

RM European is still sometimes my choice when I need something quickly since I'm in CA and they somehow get it to me overnight with free shipping, vs. the free shipping from FCP Euro takes a week or so.

They sure are. Their new YouTube channel is pretty good too. The guys they have doing them are funny enough but also focused enough to provide very good info for DIY maintenance.

I use FCP for both the Benz and BMW and have been very satisfied. ECS is my back up.

PM
Water Pump/TStat

Required -
Trans Gasket, Valve Cover

PM
Timing Case Gasket

Required
Right Left Shock
PM Left Rear Shock, Front Struts and all hardware

Required
One belt showing cracks. One vac hose showing dry rot
We'll see what else gets added to the list when things get unbolted

Sigh....this went from a single brake pad swap and axle to all sorts of things

I'm finishing up a timing chain and guide job and a full front suspension replacement after going in for a left front axel and a shredded belt. I feel your pain, and my wallet feels your wallet's pain too.

Heh, and this is par and parcel of regular PM and a almost 2 decade old chassis

This would be the 3rd water pump. 1st one failed...blew a seal coming off a freeway. Not fun ....on the 3 1/2 hr tow waiting in the middle of the summer. The current WP was probably replaced around 4 yrs ago or the like. Bearing noise...

Comes with the territory. My last 4 vehicles have been 3 year leasers. It's someone elses problem ...

Somehow the E53 had just been in the family since original ownership.

---I just wish I knew about FCP earlier. Not sure if they had lifetime warranty back when I was buying things. Back in the days, I was buying my stuff from RME, AutoHausz, BMW Mini Parts Store, etc----
FCP I originally thought was just some WorldPac dropshipper. But sofar, their lifetime warranty on parts have paid off on some. Sure wish some of my prior purchases were with FCP should it croak out.

crystalworks 04-01-2021 11:08 AM

I used to use autohausaz all the time. Switched to FCPeuro when they changed from FCP groton and added the lifetime guarantee... something like 6 years ago? Maybe longer.

Fifty150hs 04-01-2021 11:18 AM

I buy almost exclusively from FCP. The lifetime warranty is worth it. For the alternators I've had to replace alone. I've got about 100,000 on my last suspension refresh. FCP parts. I'll doing the refresh for free (less return shipping of course). You can even do oil changes for almost free for life. I don't want to ship oil, so I don't. ECS is a good back up, but occasionally, depending on the part, I've gone to Pelican or Autohauz.

jsoto 04-01-2021 11:55 AM

I don't fall into the camp of lifetime fluids for warranty but I have taken them up on the following on the Lifetime Warranty...

Rear Wiper Motor
Hatch Stoppers
and most recently, front right axle.

My ABS module was also purchased from them but I doubt I will ever need to take them up on it. Who knows ? That ABS module repair would also have been my second R&R on it.

So I guess it was never lifetime warranty from the get go?
I'm kinda going off memory but I believe that was what caught my eye when I switched my purchases primarily to them. They also used to -price match- as well, but that is no longer the case.

On certain BMW OE items, while they may not be as cheap as BWW Mini Parts Store, Morristown, VA, etc - if the difference is negligible, I end up buying from FCP just because the small markup offsets their Lifetime warranty on all purchases if not the ones I have made with them
