Talk about a noncommittal, not responsible door decal. Maybe it’s me, but that chart makes about as much sense a a barcode at Whole Foods.
The mechanic that’s bee working on my E53 has developed a penchant for giving my X back to me with 38 lbs (cold) all around. Rides like a luxury buckboard, beware anything resembling a bump. I think I can even feel changes in pavement color 🤪
I always ran 32 lbs front, 34 lbs rear and seemed to work well.
Anyone have some advice ? Thanks up front

Start with the door suggestion and fine tune usually based on tire wear.

32/39 works pretty good for me but may start adding a couple psi front to get more even wear up front.

It's one of my big annoyance that car repair places can't seem to read the door jamb and over inflate tires.

I also have interesting tire wear issues due to funky camber on rear axle. That and the fact I bought Michelin Cross Climate rubber. Diresctional tread pattern. O well.

Camber not usually the cause of inside edge wear it's loose ball joints. I have the problem and will be documenting soon as I'm rapidly destroying my current set of tires and the replacement set it's in the shipping cart waiting for my taxes to pull the trigger.

My mechanic says correcting the bad angle can be expensive. Entire suspension components need replacement. Was he pulling my leg ?

From my understanding two joints are primarily responsible for rear tire wear and it's not about camber it's abiut the tire steering under load in corners. I'll be confirming when I fix mine before installing $1000 of tires

I enjoy being able to read braille on the pavement. 36psi cold all 4 corners on all vehicles.

Count yourself lucky your indy cares enough to inflate your tires. Most will let you leave with anything above 15psi. :rolleyes:

I was introduced to the phrase “driving by Braille “ When I was riding around in California And the driver hit the round bumps that we refer to a steel armadillos While crossing lanes.

We can’t have those in Wisconsin because they will be taken off by the plow but we do have the rumble strips cut into the shoulder next to the fog line And if I hit one taking a curve a little wide I will of course say driving by braille.
