DDE Isssues Again
 
Hello all,

This is my old thread where i fixed the loss of power by replacing the turbocharger module.

Today i went to check for any error codes becouse i noticed in the morning only on first start the car would shake a little and drop rpm but then it will run very normal.
The car has DPF disabled, turbocharger partially reubuild + turbo module replaced. it's a 2006 X5 E53 3.0d

1. 0041AA DDE: Sens presione di aliment
2. 004B10 DDE: Regolatore silenzionata
3. 004B11 DDE: Regolatore silenzionata

Replaced the Charge Air Pressure today that is located on the right side of intake manifold.

After this i went to another mechanic that checked the codes on the car , he explained me that BMW ISTA D has 3 types of memory (shadow memory,regular memory and another one). The car was showing different hidden errors like EGR , Intercooler Sensor , Charge Air Pressure so he deleted them from memory with another software. He then had to reset all the values of EGR , MAF , MAP etc. Car drives better now and the codes did not come back yet. Will have to drive for at least 100km or 200km so the car adapts agains the values. Fingers crossed

The 41AA code pointed to the Charge Pressure Sensor on the intake manifold - but lots of other issues can cause this to appear faulty. In your case, sounds like it might be the issue. time will tell.

It's not ISTA D that has the various fault memory locations - they are in the car itself. Different software applications (ISTA D, INPA, DIS, PASoft etc.) present the codes locations and values in slightly different ways and reading them etc. often requires some degree of interpretation. ;)

Hi wpoll, sadly we don't have a lot of proffesionals here in my country :( . That's why i always try to get some information online. I have seen different threads on different forums that peoples have replaced turbochargers,intake manifold, all vacum pipes , pressure converters , egr , and a lot more and the issue was still there.

In my case this code appeared when i took the DPF OFF the ECU. I sent the turbo for a check becouse i thought that was the issue but after doing all the required fixes on the turbocharger + replacing the turbo module i thought it was back to normal but NO , the car was the same .. low on power

This guy who works with ECU's , transmission modules and basically everything that is electronic had the latest version of Launch Diagnostics that was able to read all this kind of memories it even showed EGR issues stored on the car memory....

He then told me if the values of MAP,MAF, EGR were reset , i told him no so he runned a adaption on them or something like that. the car was really weird at first but it started gaining it's power again ...

He does custom ECU's and told me if the error appears again maybe it's becouse of bad MAP , but normally only a. DPF removal should not trigger such error :dunno:

This error is a nightmare :yawn:

UPDATE:

Code appeared again , this time we tested the vacum line and it didn't react very well on car start up.

1. We found that one of the hoses on the Vacuum Pump Tube Pipe that is located just below the intake manifold had one broken pipe. Part no #11667798312
2. We found that they were placed incorrectly and that each of this hoses had different pressure.

First Pipe it not usable becouse i have electric turbo
Second Pipe goes t EGR Pressure Converter
Third Pipe goes to Engine Mounts
Fourth Pipe goes to Intake Manfold

We replaced that part,cleaned the erorr code memory and hopefully it wont come back again :(

@wpoll is the placement right of this pipes ?

The first diagram matches mostly , so i guess everything must be set correctly.
My E53 has no vacum reservoir, it has only 3 usable pipes:

The number of ports varies from version to version (3, 4 or 5 ports). but it makes little difference - all the ports on the vacuum manifold are at the same vacuum level.

My M57TU has only 3 ports also (can't remember exactly though): -

1. Turbo Boost Vacuum Reservoir (then to Turbo Boost Pressure Converter)
2. EGR Pressure Converter
3. Engine Mount Pressure Converter

Pretty sure I don't have any vacuum line feeding anything on the intake manifold (swirl flap control etc.?)

So strange , they told me they have different vacumm level. Maybe becouse the first pipe was broken and it had glue on it , the glue might have gotten inside and block the line or maybe it was leaking vacum.
Mine has a line that feeds the intake manifold to open swirl flap

If this won't work i will have to flash my old ECU File before DPF removal from my local mapper.
