Can’t find ANYONE local to code my E53

Nobody can code my 2006 4.8is! Some have tried but couldn’t do it. Others flat out said they can’t.

I’m in Toronto. Any suggestions?

I want to change how the headlights function.

Very frustrating I can’t find talent

Perhaps if you explained exactly how you want to change the function?

I'm looking into thinkdiag for such things. Looks very promising

sure.

1) change my day time running lights into all 4 halos only. so that the halogen (i think its a halogen bulb) only works if i use the high beams. i don't want to disable the DRL's, just disable the halogens and instead have the halos on.

2) disable the amber signal lights from being on all the time. so that they only work if i hit the signal left or right.

extra,

3) disable "seatbelt" and "keys in" chimes.

1. If I remembered correctly, you can only use the high beam (inner halogen) or low beam (halogen or HID) as DRL. You can re-wire the halos for DRL, but I don't believed you can program them to be on as DRL. Besides, those halos are so dim you won't be able to tell if they're on in the daytime anyway, so don't even bother.

2. This can easily be accomplished - I've done it to mine - too bad you're over 3k miles away :p:

3. This can be accomplished as well, but I didn't bothered with mine since I don't mind it.

Using software like Team viewer will take care of the distance issue

Alex,

I have a laptop, ODB cable and software for coding just never personally tried it otherwise I'd say let's give it a go.

If you, dkl and myself can coordinate something maybe he can do it remotely for you.

Team viewer can do the trick but still the owner has to have NCS properly installed on his computer. Otherwise it will be a never ending story first trying to install softwares to do the actual job which would take a few minutes.

yeah I know it can be a pain in the ass that's why I offered my laptop for use which already has all the software installed.

If I had any experience coding I would offer to do it myself but I don't want his car to be the one I learn on :D

Not possible to code halos only. Many have tried for many years with no success. The only way we have made them operate the way you want is to send k-bus messages to the LCM. Most of us have done it with an android head unit running the i-bus app.

The corner delete is easy as is the chimes but you need NCS Expert.

The other way is to rewire the halos all together. But seeing as the thread is coding related, that's probably not what you had in mind OP. :D
