Random engine bay wire

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all.
I found this random wire in my engine bay today. Could be the cause of my misfire codes. I can't find any type of wiring diagram though.
Wire comes off the passenger side where the fuel rail would be.
Single wire. Brown with green stripe.
Long enough to go down to the lower rad hose.
Damn the previous owners.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to figure that out with the wiring diagram. Looks like the previous owner was trying to bypass something. If you don't have the Bentley manual you should get one.

Bentley manual.
On it.
Thank you

In the mean time(if you haven't already) have a good look to see if there is anything within reach disconnected. I just had a quick look on mine (3.0L) and the only exposed BRN/GRN wire I could see was for the washer fluid level so good chance this might be a ground for something and maybe there is a second wire or this is pulled out of an existing connector.

BRN/GRN for the washer level is the signal wire which when grounded by the level switch with the BRN/BLK wire keeps the washer level light off. NOT saying that is the wire you are dealing with but that's what I can find on my 3.0L just to give some idea.

Thanks for the quick reply. Someone attempted to splice mine together and it has a spade connector on the end of it that's been ripped off from somewhere.
It's currently not connected to anything and I don't get a low washer fluid light on the dash while running
