Rear right ride height sensor/LRA error, Headlight adjustment

Does anyone remember what these wires are on the left and right side, other than wires for the speed sensors?

I removed all the wiring for stock radio, amp and sub and I might've cut a couple of extra wires by mistake.

I just wanted to know if 3 blue/white wires on the left and 3 wires on the right are needed for anything, before I finish triple layer soundproofing and rebuilding the trunk from 0.

I can look up the wiring diagrams, I just forgot what is behind the rear inner fenders where these wires are coming from.

Height sensors? Even without air suspension, there are height or level sensors for the headlights....

*edit* confirmed the ride sensor wiring colours match the colours in the picture - WS/GR, WS/BL, WS/SW + GE/GR, GE/BR, GE/SW

Ahhh totally forgot about them!
My car doesn't have air suspension. Are these still doing anything in my car with a regular suspension?

Looking at the diagram the ride sensor only go to the air suspension control unit, which I don't have.
So I can remove those extra wires now and see if there's any leftover to clean up

You nailed it, those were the ones.

I didn't even have the connector connected to anything.
Are you saying these sensors in the back are needed for headlights? I didn't even have the air suspension module in my car. And this is where those height sensors would connect to.

I don't have air suspension either BUT the wires are used, at least, the ones on the right side are. LCI cars with self-leveling Xenon headlight use the ride height sensors for the headlight leveling system. Not sure if this is true of the pre-facelift cars (like yours) but if you don't have a level sensor on your right rear suspension, then I guess not and you don't need the wiring.

Hmmm you're right again, maybe I was too quick to cut the connector off.
You see, I bought the car second hand, and there was a huge mess in the trunk.
So I cut off all the wires which had an empty connector dangling by itself. I thought that if the connector is not connected to anything, it must not be important.
I've retraced all the wires, removed all the extra wires going to the fusebox and relays for the components that I don't have, such as stock audio, air compressor etc.
This helped me organize the wiring and fix a bunch of electrical issues.
But maybe I was too quick with this connector.
When I bought the car, it didn't have the air suspension module. So I cut it off lol, the connector.

Now if the connector wasn't connected to the module, I guess there would be no signal going from the ride height sensor on the rear right side to the headlights.

My headlights do have a bunch of errors in bmwscanner which I planned to address once I finished with the other issues.
I'm gonna double check the error and maybe add the air suspension module and re-create the wiring from ride height sensors to the module.

Now if I'm going to take off the inner fender again and break those dumb plastic rivets, I gotta buy extra wide flares for the arches!
Just gotta find the ones that fit with the running boards.

I don't think the EHC module is required for the headlight levelling to work - I certainly don't have an EHC module. But the wiring is rather different between the pre-facelift and facelift (LCI) cars. I'll check the wiring diagrams to see where the non-EHC cars connect the ride height sensors to the headlight levelling systems (LCM?).

*edit* it's the LWR module, not LCM.

OK - in the second and third images in your first post (right side of car), the GREY wires are the headlight level sensor wires. It looks like the cars with EHC and LWR use a rear ride height sensor with TWO outputs - one for the ride height and one for the head lights. Yellow wires are ride height, grey are headlights.

Definitely somethings not right

https://i.ibb.co/Bt2bwKt/20210528-022704.jpg

The 3 wires that are cut, I think they are yellow brown, yellow white and yellow grey.
Based on the diagram all 3 go to suspension control module, which I don't have, so it must be fine.
The other 3 are not cut, go to LRW module.
I'll have to check for continuity and voltage to see if the sensor and wiring is good on the right side.
If it's good and I'm still getting an error, maybe there must be a sensor on the left rear side that someone removed before me.
