Fuse panel chart messed up?? A little help pls...

While I was checking the fuses inside the glove box I noticed that some of the slots on the diagram which should be empty had fuses inserted, and vice versa -

Here's the list - I'm hoping I can find out what that ones which don't have an entry in the chart are for, and if the fuses in there are the correct rating.

The first one was pretty easy to sus out -

#19 should be EMPTY, but it had a 5 Amp fuse connected. #17 is empty without connector terminals. The table says #17 is for 'Outside Mirror', also 'Passenger and trunk lighting' - so I pulled number 19 and sure enough, trunk lights went out. So terminals in #19 should have been wired to the #17 slot.

The other EMPTY slots *should be*

#30 - Found with 15 Amp fuse
#35 - Found with 15 Amp fuse
#49 - Found with 30 Amp fuse
#56 - Found with 25 Amp fuse.

Now obviously I'm not gonna disconnect these yet if I don't know the purpose - can anyone help out???

What are you trying to accomplish?? The Bentley manual has really good wiring and fuse information.

For fuses F19, F30, F35, F49 and F56 there is no reference in wiring diagrams. Fuse F17 for entry light module if the vehicle has entry lights on side mirrors.

That's what is confusing me - big THANK YOU for checking as I'm abroad and I can't get a Bentley manual out here... (Why did they never make a 'Haynes manual' for the X5 in the UK??);

If there is no reference on the table to what these fuses do, howcome these slots are wired up and have fuses with specific amperages??

I'm curious to pull them and see what happens.... :p::p::p:

When troubleshooting my AC last year, I found that my 2003 pre-facelift car had the auxiliary fan powered by a different fuse than Bentley and Newtis said. The wiring diagrams said it was in one place for pre-facelift, and a different place for post-facelift cars, and my fan was powered by the post-facelift fuse. I have no other examples of finding bad documentation but that is a big red flag for me that there are probably more examples.

Would not be the first error in WDS and for some reason E53 seems to have these more often than any other model I've worked with.
