Questions for the brake gurus:

1. Age...like tires, do brake pads have a lifespan in terms of age?
Let's say you don't drive much, is there an age when you just replace the pads after ___ years bc of fear of delimination?

Not a guru here, but my original brake pads were fine on my 20 year old E53 when we did them last year at ~46k miles. They probably had another 5k miles on them, but my mechanic had terminal cancer and we decided to do them before he passed away. RIP, Robert. We didn't do the rotors because they have plenty of life left.

Pads are either glued, molded or stamped on. If they are painted odds are glued. If galvanized odds are molded or pressed on.
