X Pipe or Resonated X Pipe for 3.0
Hi all,
I have a 2001 5MT with Dinan exhausts on it (got lucky and found them at a junkyard lol). They're great, but I can really only hear them up to about 2k rpm, and after that, I can't really tell they're there. I just purchased an X pipe, but I am on the fence about installing it. I am concerned about any possible droning, and if it would be too loud. I definitely want the car to sound louder though! I'm also not sure if I should go with a resonated X pipe instead (this one). Or would this resonated X pipe not give me what I am looking for? Appreciate any input! Thanks! |
I just put an x-pipe on my 4.4 (centre resonator deleted). It has 4.8 mufflers so I assume your Dinans would be a bit more free-flowing. I've lost some of the low end torque doing it (<2,800rpm). Look into an h-pipe instead - might give you the flow/sound, but still protect the low end.

I posted clips in one of the threads - look for "resonator" and "LVP" and you'll find it.
Tip, I found the best way to search this site is to use google and type in the search "center resonator LVP site:xoutpost.com" |
+1 Non resonated x-pipe.
