Steering rack replacement
 

Anyone ever done this job? How was it and what else did you do when you were in there? I am thinking about replacing the oil return tubes and rubber washers.

I thought about rebuilding also, but since I had an small accident about 10 years ago that left it a bit wobbly when braking. I thought it best to get a rebuilt one

I’d like to rebuild mine too while I’ve got easy access in the near future with the motor out. Does anyone have any recommendations of shops that will rebuild the e53 rack. I’m assuming this will be less expensive than an already rebuilt rack, but maybe not.
