Bosch alternator with Valeo components?
 

I just bought this brand new Bosch alternator from FCP Euro:

Super weird. Comes in a Bosch box. The black plastic casing on the back (which I can now see plainly in the image on the FCP site) says Valeo. There's a Genuine Bosch sticker on the metal alternator casing. Took off the back case and the voltage regulator and electronics are all Valeo, lol!

I have no issue with this in principle, but what do you think is going on here? Is it possible these two companies have merged or something?

Is it new or rebuilt?

If rebuilt, maybe the rebuilders put Valeo components in there?

I trust the Valeo VR more so I have no problem with that

I'm neutral on the brand. Either one is fine. Just found it interesting.

Anyway, I sent it back bc after replacing the VR on my 205k mi alternator, which now works perfectly well ; )
