LED relay for signal light

Has anyone tried swapping out the factory K16 relay for a LED capable Relay (https://youtu.be/sltF26lP5gg) instead of wiring a resistor on the LED bulb?

I don't think the E53 has a flasher relay, isn't it all LCM ?? and I think even programmable for LED tail lights??

Like said there is no relay for turn signals, everything is done directly by LCM. On later LCM models individual bulb cold and hot checks can be coded out and PWM voltage supply altered. But what's the initial purpose of changing to LED bulbs?

Just incase anyone wanted to install LED bulbs in their 4 corners.

I'm happy with factory. Less things to modify/worry about going wrong :)

Yeah I thought the LCM/LKM controlled it all... But just curious as that's (relays and electronics) not my strong point on Bimmers.

I bought Spyder LED tails and fitted them and they worked straight out of the box. Of course this was prior to the "brake force indicator" brake lights days as it was on a '01 X5. The lights had built in capacitors to provide the correct reluctance to bias the LKM signal so no errors or quick flash problems were experienced..
