a little help with a part number
after 11 years in e53s, the parts that I continue to lose are the two bolts that hold down the air intake box. There must be half a dozen of them in my car's nether regions.
I've long since had zip ties there but since I'm such a baller it's time for me to start livin' large and outfit my airbox with real metal hold-downs again. problem is, i have never been able to figure out the part number. seems like it would be number 9 in this picture, but....where do I find the part number? any thoughts ? happy to use aftermarket as well, but my old bolts are long gone so i have nothing to reference. I know they are 10MM heads but not sure how long or the thread pitch. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=13_0902 |
a little help with a part number
They are the most common bolt in world. 6mm whatever the coarse thread is. I've lost one or two of those myself picked up replacements at home Depot.
Completely bizarre that #9 is a ghost in your OEM. Mine lists it. It's 35mm. |
So, the link I posted was for my facelift 2005 model.
I just checked the link for my pre facelift 2003 (sold last week!) and the 35mm is listed. WEIRD indeed! |
It was very weird especially with the ghosted gray 9.

It looks to me like #12 supersedes #9..That's why #9 is ghosted
|
Yes #12 and #9 are the same bolt.

Wow that's so funny. It's the same bolt that holds the AIR pump on. And if you search that PN, it comes up in both places however the actual part number doesn't show up on either page.
Must be a strange bug with REALOEM. |
