When was the last time you did an alignment? Didn't you need to disconnect several suspension components from the subframe to drop it? Additionally, I'd weigh in the cost of an alignment versus tire replacement.

it's worth noting that most (good) alignment machines will align to a centered steering rack. this will mean that your steering wheel will still be off post-alignment if the issue is that the column is not centered on the rack.

edit: also, centering the steering wheel by tweaking toe doesn't really work with a non-linear rack. with any kind of variable rate rack, you really want the center to be the center.

I haven't had an alignment done in quite a while, so it's due for one anyway. I'm glad to report that the "easy fix" toe adjustment solved the problem. The alignment machine used is a Hunter DSP 600 and performed by a shop that I trust. I'm not really worried about the minor off-centered column to rack. Thanks again for everyone's input on the subject.

I would still run the steering angle alignment so the DSC is correctly calibrated to zero up the middle.
