Seatbelt Alarm won't turn off!

I'm out of ideas, and yes, I've check all over here and elsewhere for solutions. All of which I have pretty much ruled out. The Seatbelt alarm will not shut off in my Wife's 2006 X5. It doesn't care if I have the seatbelt buckled or not. I could live with just having the seatbelt buckled all the time, but that doesn't do anything. I tested the seat occupancy sensor with my scanner. It shows appropriate status whether the seat is empty (no occupancy) or if I'm sitting in it (assigned). If I disconnect the plug under the seat, the alarm goes off, but I don't want the airbags disabled. If I unplug just the seatbelt catch hall sensor it kicks the airbag warning light, so that's not an option either... not that it made a difference. I'm not above taking the dinger out of the dash, but I'd rather fix the issue (if I can find it).

Thanks in advance.

Mine had the same problem. I installed a seat sensor bypass. The air bags are active all the time with or without a passenger. To turn off the buckle sign, a seatbelt extender is installed. The mat emulator is easy to install.

Or code out the seatbelt warning.

So even with the mat sensor registering correctly, it (probably) is still bad? Annoying...

I saw how to build one yourself with a diode and a resistor, but those were for the sedans, same thing on this I'd assume?

Thanks again.

I need to get the cable, but might do this, my family is religious about wearing our belts anyway...

At time of purchase, fixing the seat belt/airbag was priority. I didn't have a BMW scanner available. I bypassed for daily driving and safety. Later I purchased a BMW code reader and now a Foxwell with activation modes. I could probably go back and test the seat pad now. Since the bypass has worked, I just left it alone to fix other items.

I've ordered the bypass and some clips. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies.
