Rear Quarter glass replacement
2 Attachment(s)
Due to a heavy storm, a roof tile flew off the house and hit the rear right quarter glass on the e53.
Any idea how this glass would be replaced as I cant find any guides anywhere. Thanks. |
Newtis should show how.
Send your last 7 of VIN. Somebody will likely post the steps. |
It's glued on like the windshield but even more involved because of different cutting depths around it.

How to help on using vibrating knife to remove glass. Attachment 81290 Glue guide Attachment 81291 Wire handle removal method. It's prob 5/10 difficultly to remove and 6-7/10 to install (without making a mess with the glue) Find some good YouTube videos and making tape and plastic is your friend you will not remove the glue from interior. |
Here's a direct link to TIS if you have user account.

I did it not long ago. Remove outside trim, then cut the glue from the inside. This takes forever.
I would say removal is 6/10 difficult. Install is 2/10 This video will be very helpful Unfortunately a video with quarter panel replacement for X5 doesn't exist :( https://youtu.be/V01OuuGlbbo |
Crazy. I didn't open the "door window" guide nexuses that's not a door window. Another example of mismatch wording on tis.
