Yeah but that would be a lot different than you riding on the brakes and gas for minutes at a time, endlessly really.

It doesn’t seem to activate immediately, but when it notices both sensors are activated at the same time for an extended period of time, it tries to slow the vehicle down just in case. Makes sense.

Remember, my code was saying that the brake switch sensor was on permanently.

Thanks for your help!

This is what I noticed. If I tried to do some funny business like warm up my brakes by driving with brakes and gas I made it a block or two before engine cut power.

I completely forgot that's how I discovered it. I was trying to rub some rust off my brake pads from the car sitting a few days when it rained. I was only using maybe 20% brake pressure.

It’s funny because it is a pretty cool system, but it has such drastic results without a clear code to tell you what’s going on. I mean there is zero indication on the dash as it’s happening to even clue the driver in.

I mean at first I thought I needed a transmission rebuild, and the guy I bought it from sold it to me for a song because he thought it was pretty much dead.

One little code about the brake light switch. A code that my foxwell didn’t pick up, but my Creader did, and some great help in here!

That's key feedback: no indication on the dash! That's nuts!

Anything that kills the power puts the engine in limp mode should feedback on the dash. I get DSC blinks when the wheels spin on ice.

Exactly!

I think people will be very happy to find this thread in the future when their brake switch fails and they think their transmission broke.
