Angel Eyes, Clear vs. stock?
 

I bought CCFL E46 Angel Eyes some weeks ago and I'am now in progress to install them.
But can decide if I should go for the EuroClear-look (will remove the bracket that is visible @ pciture), "Stock"-look or skip the angel eyes.
I like the Stock-look most (pic 1)


What do you think about it?

(the hull is not attached completely becouse it's a pain in the a** to remove)
(angel eyes on the low beam is at this point only attached with some tape)

I'd say go with the clear (bottom picture). It makes the angel eyes look more clean, distinct, and "owlish".

it's funny. i never knew about these 'angel eyes' until about two days ago. then i really notice it on the road. i woulld of never detected it - havent for a long time too. might as well make it distinct.

I say pic 1, but lose the amber if you can.

Yeah, will also get some Stealth Bulbs (chrome bulb)

How did you get the seal apart on the headlight assembly?? I tried, but gave up since I didn't want to damage it. It's glued on pretty good! Do you have any pics of how & where to take apart the headlight. I don't want the angel eyes, just the clear look without the glass in front of the bulbs! :confused:

I can take some more pictures... during the installation progress.

The glue is really hard until you heat it up with a "heater gun". After that you use some screwdrivers and bend - heat - bend - heat - bend, takes some time and you need to be really carefully with the heat to not damage the headlight "edge" where the glue is fitted.
When I put the assambly together I removed some of the old glue and added glue that's black and used on boats to seal fittings. Very important to seal the assembly, you don't want to get water in the headlight every time when you clean the car...

I installed LED Angel Eyes after that I wanted CCFL, this is not the first time doing this :wow:

wouldnt know how it was done dude :dunno: , dave @ custom angel eyes installed the entire new headlight assembly for me when i ordered the angel eyes. i guess sending in my oem headlight unit and adding on the AEs wasnt an option...you mite try asking him but dont know if he'll let u in the "secret"?? screen name topazdave on bimmerfest.
