dIssue with door airbag

Hello!

So in order to get rid of the airbag light in my dash, I decided to open up the driver's door and unplug the airbag, which to my surprise was already unplugged and removed.
The rear head airbag was already unplugged by the previous owner, but they didn't deactivate it so the light was on. Once I deactivated it in the system, I stopped getting an error code for it, but for some reason, the same doesn't seem to work for the door airbag.
I used INPA to do this and I deactivated Side airbag 1 left and side airbag 2 left. Once I clear the code, the light in the dash just starts blinking, and once I turn the car off & on again, it just comes back. Am I missing something here?

Any help is much appreciated.

Needs to be unplugged if deactivated I've read. Did you unplug first?

Haven't had the time to deal with this due to engine issues.
I'll give another scanner a go in order to get a more precise error on this problem. If I understood correctly, then in case the front door airbags deploy, the crash details will be stored into the module, which will need replacing. If that's the case then I'll have a look around in the local scrap yards, I've found plenty 2nd hand modules on sale for low bucks.
I've also heard that it might be not possible to deactivate driver's airbag and I'll have to get a replacement airbag anyway..not sure if that's true.

If I'm not mistaking you can just add a 5ohm resistor to the connector like jumper,I had to disable a lot of knee bolster airbags in dodge mini vans when installing hand controls for the disabled. That way the airbag light doesn't come on. Should be the same for any vehicle I assume.

That thought crossed my mind but I'll most likely end up buying a 2nd hand one from the nearest scrap yard. Already did some digging and it costs around $40 here.
Since the wife is also driving it once in a while, I'd rather not try to save on something like this.
