They do indeed look smaller in the back. Good eye.

I think that's an illusion the hot spinning back wheel has no snow on it. Look at the rims look like same style. But: non matching tire size would explain defective x-drive

That was my thought.

I checked it from different angles, just posted the one that was most obvious to me, and it always looked like the tire diameters were off. I went and checked out the E70 wheels, they do offer a 19 and 20 in very similar design which is what I thought might be going on here. The offset on the rear wheels looks sunken in compared to the wider 20's. LOL, or maybe he's running the fronts on the rear? So many questions. :D

Definitely many questions

Demonstration of what not to do regardless of what tires are on the vehicle.

Same guy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YojZDfDSdI

I didn't whether to cry or laugh. The 2021 Texas storm dumped 10"+ in Austin. My X5 went down the road like dry weather. Even with bald tires. The xDrive was working. Glad I fixed it in Jan. Bought it 12/26/20.

The proper way to use xDrive!

Ironically, the car in that YouTube clip doesn't actually have xDrive - just four-wheel drive.... ;)

Right. It would be just all the time AWD since it is a pre-LCI.

Been there done that.

Used wife's '01 to pull a guy out of a ditch where he over shot a curve at the tangent.

I made a makeshift tow rope from a jumper cable and pulled the guy off the hill he tried to drive up (he tried to drive back up the ditch back into the road) it was about 4' high to the road: fwd sedan with about 1100# of people in it!

Pulled the car back down into the field then pointed him back the way he came and using a shipping box as a pad pushed him to get him going back up the snow pack road I made by driving e53 3-4x in and out of the ditch down to the field below.

Looking for pics.

Ten yr old son for scale.

The snow was fresh fallen and very wet, about 6" deep.

I had Dunlop grand trek tires and wasn't even remotely concerned I'd get stuck I've driven through much deeper snow and much tougher circumstances.

I did get an e53 extra extra stuck once when I drove over packed snow and got all four tires off the ground!

I had my rescue pulley system with me and hooked it up with some 1" tiedown straps and had 4 college kids help pull.

We broke one of the 1" straps on the first attempt. Fortunately I had more so I doubled up and it took the punishment the second time.

With winter tires I've driven through 15" fresh snow, 10" deep snow though deep enough dips to float a wheel like in the video.

E53 is a very capable off road vehicle regardless any claim to the contrary. I've had 1 wheel off the ground countless times and save the one example above never close to getting stuck. (can't not get stuck if you get all the tires off the ground)
