Good suggestions, much appreciated! I installed a new DISA (BMW OEM) a couple years ago, and yes am ordering the GAS kit to improve it.

Really appreciate the suggestions!

So, I brought my X5 to my trusted indie this summer- he has a lift in the back for long term projects. My ask was to have it back before Winter began. I picked it up 2 weeks ago. My initial thought was primarily to do the clutch and what I assumed was a rear main seal leak. Clutch works great but at 200k I thought why not get it done.

His inspection revealed pretty much everything was leaking EXCEPT the rear main, and since the clutch was fine we left that alone.

Front subframe was dropped, oil pan off and at 200k, everything inside looked great! Zero crud, no buildup of anything or signs of wear. Oil pan gaskets, oil filter housing gasket, new axles, brake calipers rotors and pads, new power steering pump and hoses, new crank pulley (original had a big chunk out of it), driveshaft cleaned and inspected, new OEM BMW coolant expansion tank, new ball joints, rear shocks, rear brake calipers rotors and pads. All fluids changed too.

I still need to install the new DISA valve upgrade- I'll get to that this week. Very pleased with everything, all done for a very fair price. I can't replace this 6 speed MT X5 with anything out there that I like or find interesting, so will keep her going as long as I can.
