Air conditioning AC not working

Scenario:
- Accelerated at a high rate of speed the other day with the AC on.
- Afterwhich, the AC would not work. No cold air.

Testing:
- Checked fuses. Checked OK.
- Compressor clutch does not engage under any circumstance, even when provided direct battery power.
- Low and High pressures read 100 approx 100 psi
- When removing harness from pressure switch, the aux fan turns on as expected. Aux fan appears to work ok.

Would this indicate a bad compressor? Bad clutch?

If the clutch doesn't engage when powered then that is the problem. You might try giving the clutch plate a nudge with a stick or prybar handle with the A/C on and running.

Unplug it and check resistance. 0 ohms = toast clutch coil. You can swap most clutches and pulleys. I'm not sure if anyone here has done a clutch swap.

Ordered a clutch. Going to try it this weekend.

I have the same issue with my AC clutch.

Can the clutch be fixed by cleaning it or adding WD40 if it is sticking?

On my car i have the same issue and although changing the clutch is easier than changing the compressor.

So just wanted to know if it is a common issue with the clutch where it sticks due to corrosion etc?

Thanks

Either the clutch coil is shorted/open or the clutch is worn (less likely with a variable displacement compressor because it doesn't cut in and out as much) so not a repair item and will need replacement.
