BAVSOUND For e53 Still Available?

Looking for a bavsound speaker upgrade for my 2005 e53 with the standard stereo system. Does anyone have any ideas on where to look? Or possible have one that I can snag off of them?

I'm looking for the full system + subwoofer upgrade + amp if available.

LMK. TIA

It's nothing particularly special, for a huge cost premium.

^ What he said.

For the price you'd pay... much better off buying other aftermarket gear. I removed a full set, sold the amp/sub. I'm keeping all the interior drivers for a future upgrade on a car I want period correct (I believe MB Quart made the drivers at the time for Bavsound/BSW), but would not power them with the factory amp. The factory gear (even DSP amp) just isn't capable of quality audio. Not enough adjustability. Which is too bad... because it is a true 12 channel amp.

Where there is a will, there is possibly a way. LoL.. I’ve only the wiring of the external sub amp, and sub woofer to reveal the results.

By the way Crystal, would you happen to have any info on the factory DSP sub amp polarity for the two small drivers in the factory sub box? Also, if they are left and right channel, or whether they are mono.

I assume a volt meter would offer the polarity results. But, I’m curious if there is a diagram.

Yeah, I posted a complete pinout for the DSP system HERE. They are actually 2 independent dual voice coil subs with their own channels. The DSP amp/stereo setup could have been very good. But I guess for its time, it was considered pretty good by OE audio standards.

No, I don't think so. DSP was BMW starting to think that maybe they should try a little bit. It was the next generation of BMWs where they started to *kind* of produce ok sound at the top end. E9x HK and EPS were okayish, for example.

Right on! That is exactly what I needed!

I think it sounds fantastic! But, it is missing quite a bit of low end frequencies to produce a solid sound. It has plenty of highs, so I am going to add a lot of low end frequencies (not just booming bass), to tie in with the high end. I have a solution, and I am extremely experienced with tuning, even with little to work with. I am going to do everything I can to preserve it, especially for the reverberation feature.

I can't think of much that was quality back in the early 2000's when it came to OE audio. At least not sub $100k. :dunno:

Any audiophile won't be happy with even the most expensive OE setup in most situations. The B&O setup in our F15 for example (~$5000 option I think) pales compared to the aftermarket setup in the E53.

The audiophile in the link below seems to be happy. :dunno: You nailed that 100k mark though!

McIntosh is awesome though!

BMW was far behind what Lexus and Mercedes offered at the time. I'm not saying that it was great elsewhere, but there were no "good enough to tolerate" stereo options from BMW at all.
