We changed out the front passenger window regulator today. A bit faster than the driver's side, but still took almost three hours. Robert likes to take his time and do a quality job. He said he could knock out five or six a day back when he was at the dealer. They may have been simpler then, and he's not as strong or fast now he's in his 70's. Still enjoys it though and I enjoy learning from him!

One thing that sped things up was using my oscillating tool with a stainless scraper blade (no teeth) on the butyl putty. I'd estimate it's at least five times faster than doing it with a putty knife. I put the tool on its lowest setting and was careful around the bumps. No tears in the foam and very cleanly cut!

Once we had everything reassembled, the driver's door lock still wasn't working properly. Then, with the key in position 1, I did one more attempt of disconnecting and reconnecting the driver's door module. This time I disconnected just the two with the swing locks, but in a different order: black then white out; white then black in. And it worked!

We used the other tip that I mentioned in the first post in this thread: We put the foam padding in a sunny spot for a few minutes to warm up the black glue. I had brought my heat gun, but this works better, if it's warm enough outside.
