Then voltmeter reading at the starter while engaged IF that checks out.

I'm telling ya man... click and no spin is a classic failed starter solenoid. (Which is attached to the starter)

13.32 volts across the terminals at rest and drops to less than 10 when attempting to crank. Our battery charger has a start boost function but no improvement in results shown .Any thoughts?

2nd BST isn't partially blown? 3rd Get a new starter most likely. That's the order I'd go in after your voltage drop was found. Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk |
Thanks..
Can you define BST for us? |
BST is the Battery Safety Terminal and has a fusible link that has been known to die for reasons other than an accident.

Was the voltage drop measured in engine bay or at the battery terminals? Have you checked engine ground wire or tested with a jump lead from starter body to grounding point? Is the starter connected tight (would not be the first one missing a bolt)?

The voltage drop was measured at the battery terminals.
It would appear that my BST is working without toasting the fusible link since the air suspension pump kicked in vigorously. I haven't removed the intake yet to check things under there but will try to do so this weekend. |
