StopTech Supply Chain issues?
 

Has anyone had issues getting parts from StopTech lately?
I've had a set of front pads on order for over a month with an initial ship date of 12/5 and now I'm being told I won't see parts until 2/10/2023!!!
While my e53 is waiting for an engine replacement I've been driving my E90 335i and about a week into that move my front brakes started grinding. The pad wear sensor is not used so it wasn't real obvious that the pads were wearing down. PN 308-12470 for the front pad set in case anyone has a set they'd part with.

Stoptech's various street pads all kind of suck. Why not just buy something else?

But yes, Stoptech supply isn't great right now. It took me 6 months to get a pair of 380x35 rotor rings delivered this year, as an example. Not to mention the incredible price hikes on their BBKs. (Which are dumb. I can't see why you wouldn't buy something else at the prices they're now charging. I say this as someone with several Stoptech BBKs.)

The car came with front and rear BBK with the 6 piston calipers in the front when I bought it from a friend..
I also posted the question on e30 M3 SIG and have Porterfield-Brakes alternative pads coming in a couple days. I's always good to ask a race car guy since they seem to be very resourceful.

Yeah, there are a ton of alternate pad options out there. I think that you'll be a lot happier with the Porterfields that the Stoptech Street pads. They honestly just suck.

I had BBK on order from ST for 14 mos and they couldn't fill the order. The were purchased and now part of a portfolio ultimately owned by private equity which is often, and has proven to be, a death sentence in the aftermarket.

I received the (Hawk) pads from Porterfield within a couple days. I decided to start with the LF that was grinding. I removed the bridge and the inner pad was worn down whereas the outer was about 5/16" thick. I removed the pads and noticed the grooves in the calipers where the pads sit were especially gunked up on the inners. Brake cleaner and some brushing and scraping and caliper grease were used. I moved the old outer pad to the inner and installed a new pad on the outer. Not my preferred long term situation but I wanted to drive a couple days to see how my cleaning affects the brake function. Immediately I noticed an improvement and no chattering. I plan on having the rotors turned in a couple days and replace the rest of the pads and inspect the LF inner pad.
