Cluster Unlock - Voltage

for those who have unlocked their cluster and looked at the running V, what do you see on your cluster.

On average, I'm generally at 13.6, some peaks at 13.8 and if I decal, etc, I've seen it drop to 12.4/12.2 for a brief second.

Just curious for those that have unlocked their cluster, what do you see on the OBC

Usually when I've checked it's 13,6-13,7 V. If it drops below 13 V when engine is running there is something wrong with the alternator.

I see 13.8v-13.9v. This reading is a little lower than the measured 14.1v-14.2 at the jump terminals but this difference seems to be consistent across most variants (of E53).

Yeah, if you see it dropping to below 13v, your alternator (or rectifier/regulator - part of the alternator) is very suspect.

I did not take a reading off the jump terminals. Haven't crossed that bridge yet. Wanted to start a baseline read just to see what the alt was putting out while putzing around.

The drop in V happens mainly when decel. I've noticed this primarily primarily if I jab on the brakes or when it decals. I will see it drop momentarily - usually down to 12.4, but I have seen it blip to 12.2 momentarily

No *alternator error light* on the cluster sofar

--------------------
At idle from start, same range from 13.6, 13.4.
In this one instance, from a warm start, it was at 12.4-12.6. Started driving and it jumped to 13.5-13.6. So we're summarizing anything below 13 on the OBC is not normal ? Not sure how accurate OBC is, hence the original post
