SOLVED (so far)

DME connectors showed a lot of dust, so a little canned air and dielectric grease and nothing has returned!!

Wife is only side eying me now so Imay live a bit longer..... [emoji28][emoji28]

Get some deoxit gold. Nothing better on earth for contacts

Good work! :) The BMW connectors are pretty awesome but we are getting on in the years for service life even for them ;)
Just unplugging and plugging will usually restore the contacts for a while anyway. Contact grease will help to keep them from oxidizing/corroding again.

Jut over 300 km and hadn't had any issues so I looked at my torque pro display and shit a brick!!

Temp is jumping from 97 to 124 and various numbers in between, which led me to dive off the road to the shoulder and...... realized my dumbass had glanced at the kph display [emoji1787] [emoji1787] [emoji1787]

PS. I apparently need glasses or an eyepatch to go with my hearing aid.

Haha, that happens to the best of us ;) You are a problem solver, or some would say "hard-wired to be looking for trouble." ;)

Except that for almost 30 years problem solving was handled by applying explosives.....

Not sure insurance will cover that [emoji848] [emoji28]

That's awesome!

One day I was surprised that the temp outside was so cold outside when I realized I was looking at my distance to empty.

Never plug these scanners with the engine running...Bad things happen. :(

andrewwynn 05-01-2023 10:07 PM

Yeah that's not true. Many of the things the scanner is for obviously require the engine running. Eg monitoring O₂ sensor output, testing injectors.

Coding changes while running that's asking for trouble.
