MAF torx type

Hi all, I am removing my MAF sensor on my BMW X5 E53 2005. Everyone says that the screws holding it in is a torx 20. But my screws have a center post in them. What type of tool do I need for that? thanks

Those are called security torx. Just get a security torx bit.

On some models it's 5 lobes Torx Plus Tamper proof. (So not the regular 6 lobe torx.)

Thanks for the reply guys. I ended up taking the air filter cover off and the MAF which was quite easy with clips which I have done before. I did go to a local auto shop but nothing there to suit. Mine is on a Bosch MAF and I see there is actually a special tool available for the Bosch MAF sensor screws.

This is all because my X5 has developed an engine warning light and thought it could be that. I did disconnect it with no change but ended up cleaning it anyway.

I think i may have a no 7 cylinder issue (oil, plug, coil or anything else) from diagnostic tool.

Off to my mechanic next week for this one.

Cheers
