E53 impact sensor?

One of my E53's was in a fairly bad accident recently causing the airbags to deploy. I love this car so I am having it professionally repaired however, I am ordering parts for the body shop to make the job easier and they mentioned impact sensors. Where are these located and does anyone have a part number for these?

Thanks!

There are number of impact sensors around the car - depends on which part of the car was damaged.

It was a front end crash. I stripped down the front end before it goes to the body shop but I did not see any of these sensors anywhere? Are they on the inside of the car?

There aren't any crash sensors at the front or rear - only on the sides. The MRS (Multiple Restraint System - the airbag module) contains acceleration sensors which are used to evaluate airbag deployment in the event of a crash.

Check the BST (on the battery) too - that can also trigger in an impact that deploy's the airbags.

Air bag impact sensors are normally on a brace or frame rail. I'm not sure on their location.

Lateral acceleration (side impact) sensors on both sides under front seat. Longitudinal acceleration sensor built inside airbag module (under centre console) like wpoll said. Check the codes first and see if they can be erased (other than the ones from deployed airbags).

Thanks guys! This helps a lot. The only airbag that deployed was the steering wheel as I was the only occupant and it was a front end crash (some genius decided that he didn't need to yield to me). Nevertheless, it is getting fixed properly as an oxford green E53 as clean as this one is impossible to find now.
