P0460
So my 2006 3.0L 135,000 miles had a rough idle last week and kicked on the SES light. However before I got to my destination the light was off and everything seemed fine. I pulled codes and only got P0460. But I am not having any issues with fuel gauges on my dash. Cleared code
Happened again yesterday and light came on again. Then turned off about 15 minutes into drive. Pulled code and was the same P0460. Do I replace the entire unit ( Fuel Pump and Sender Assembly - Genuine BMW 16116755043) as a precautionary measure or could this be something else? |
Many of the Generic Codes don't match up exactly with the actual problem on your BMW.
A bidirectional BMW scanner is best, such as a foxwell nt-510 or nt-520 or a laptop with ista-d, ista-p, etc. Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk |
Yes, you need a better code reader...There may be codes that a p code reader are not pulling.
you need a code reader that can read BMW codes. Foxwell's seem to work. INPA, BMW Scanner. I use an old Peake R5/FCX3 reader...it is clunky and out of date. It requires you to look up numeric codes in a related code manual, but they are cheap used and do read /reset BMW-specific codes. Peake is also out of business. Sounds to me like you might have some vacuum leaks, but that's a wild -assed guess...Don't throw parts at it. |

Check the harness under the seat and grounds.

I need a lightweight, easy-to-install ISTA-D download, also
