E53 Lid Handle

After 20 years the lit handle on my trunk won't work in my 2004 3.0i, trunk opens perfectly from keyfob and cabin button, I assume I just need to replace the whole unit per link below?

fyi license plate lights operate fine as well, I'm guessing some water got in there to finally short out the button :/

Yes, that is the piece. It's been a long time but I am about 80% sure that I was able to take mine apart and fix it. The wife's E83 though I know I replaced.

yeah when I took it apart today it looked like one clunker piece so just to be safe I'm going to replace the whole unit, super easy DIY fix anyways
