I had the same problem on a Volvo and by some miracle found this:
For select 99-12 models, Auto Trans Oil Cooler Line Coupler (set of 2) https://a.co/d/i06lRKA It's not identical but maybe some of the keywords in the description you might find somebody sells an equivalent repair part. Also look into harbor freight fuel line disconnect tools the release mechanism is similar though not thin enough you'd have to sand/grind it down to fit inside. I'd prob make an equivalent release from a sheet of brass or stainless, it would not be very difficult. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
One of these Dorman fuel line connectors likely has the same type plastic disconnector.

IIRC I think Dorman even has an assortment pack of the clips alone, or at least did at one time.

Oil Cooler Connector O-Ring Size
Quote:
I remember seeing those as well. The main problem is I was never able to find any in the size I need. The largest I found were for 3/8" connectors, when the oil cooler lines are 14mm. For the moment I just put new o-rings in the old connectors, which was more of a p.i.t.a. than I would've imagined, and reinstalled them without the plastic piece on one of them. It won't be too difficult to get it back off again, as the retaining springs are fairly accessible. Another repercussion of not being able to find new connectors is that I ended up ordering new lines. Really too expensive for what they are, but without new connectors I wasn't going to feel too good about reconditioning the lines that were there. I'll install them the next time I drain and fill the ATF fluid. Anyhow, for the record, I want to document that the correct o-rings for the oil cooler connectors are 14mm x 2.5mm, that is 14mm ID and 2.5mm on the thickness/cross-section. I was unable to find this information anywhere and thought it should be made available. |
I actually thought about you yesterday when checking my fuel pressure I was looking at the same type of clip/sleeve on the fuel line ;) My trans cooler line was leaking a fair bit at the same place when I bought the vehicle but stopped after I serviced the transmission with the Valvoline extra life fluid that I think has a bit of conditioner in it. I wanted to try to replace the o-ring but couldn't get at the sleeve to release it with the tools I had so I ordered a different release tool and even had the trans cooler line in my cart for purchase but ended up not using any of it. Kudos for posting the o-ring size! :) I think there is an o-ring size chart on here somewhere would be nice to have that on there and have it a sticky or some reference to it.
