Continental Sport Contact 5

Anybody ran these on your E53 before?

I don't think these are made as SUV tires, and they are certainly stickier than your normal all season. But I don't drive a ton of miles and I have blizzaks for the wintertime. The load rating is 105W. The stock load rating was only 104 though, so I should be OK, right?

Anyone ever used these before or have any other input for me? TIA!!

They should be pretty good I'd say.

Check the tread depth, "sport" tires are often less and wear out much quicker.

That's actually why I want them! I've driven this thing only 40k miles in the 7+ years I've owned the car, and I swap Blizzaks on all winter. So I am looking for something stickier than your normal mall-crawler all season tire. If they last 60k miles I will probably have to throw them away due to age rather than wear.

Any other suggestions along the same lines are appreciated, if I am looking at the wrong kind of tire.

I've liked Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV on mine.

For a street grip tire, I like them.

I was looking at these also but as they are now a couple of generations behind new tyre tech (they are up to Asymmetric 7 now) I decided to go for the Hankook Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV.

Well priced and seem like a great tyre!

My set is on the way……

I'll take a look at those too - the Contis are a really good price (under $800 installed afer rebate for 255/55/18) but I have had several pairs of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (1 and 2) on my family car and I can't sing their praises enough. Quiet, sticky, and reasonably priced. Good suggestion. Didn't know they made an SUV version.

Since we don't drive a lot of miles, and use snow tires in the winters, you can see that I don't mind buying sticky rubber for the summer time, even if it doesn't last many miles. I am on year 5 with this pair of Ventus Evo2s and still have two or three more years to get out of them.

I run NITTO tires and love them!! I would recommend NT555G2....

The roads here are shit but also very slick, as seen on YouTube where the Saudi guy is burning off his tires on his bicycle. [emoji51]

They'll last you about 2+ years with very aggressive driving if it's like it is here.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV tyres are now on and so far I'm quite impressed.
