EWS Issue

Hello…

I have an issue with my 2005/6 X5 3.0 Diesel. No Crank, No Start.

I followed this guide; https://www.rpmmotorsport.net/pages/...re-replacement and Step 5 works, fuse in the female plug - allows engine to crank.

I have mechanical, and some electrical ability so my question is;

1; any way to bypass the EWS?

2; If I purchase a used EWS, is it possible to write the original data to it - I have a dump from when I programmed new keys with AK90

3; What are my options?

Thank you very much in advance

Go though the rest of the steps to determine if EWS is bad. It might not be getting power etc.

Can you scan for codes? Does fuse 11 power up?

Is it the same with both/all keys?

Deleting EWS from DDE4 is quite involved task and not many have means to do it and if they do the cost can be the same as a new EWS module from the dealer.

@X5chemist

Will be checking that tomorrow, had it recovered and only managed to have a Quick Look

@Clavurion

Yes same with all keys

Ok. The fastest way to remove the EWS is to replace the DME. Or have your OEM DME coded to remove it. PM for detailed info. Since it removes security features, it's not good to have it in public information.

Like said it can be done but a bit more involved with DDE4 instead of for example petrol MS43.

Oh, big D! Yea, I’m not familiar with diesel EWS modifications.

you can bypass EWS, require send your DDE to special talent programmer for 'immo off' modification. be caution: after this, they can start the car with a screwdriver after breaking the lock.
repair of EWS 3.3 is simply done with AK90, socket chip reader on top, make new keys or replace defective module. if you want to have vehicle security in place, send EWS and DDE both as set with your keys to special talent programmer. they will make a test and make repair if needed.
