Nice. My 520Pro has helped me find a lot of little issues. One was a stuck thermostat. It's been working great since replacing it. It cools to 90C quickly when moving.

thanks chemist but mine is a v8.
of interest. The X5m has a 105c thermostat, but it’s map controlled. So the ecu can open it sooner and my understanding is the x5m targets 95c. So it’s operating temp is lower than a standard bmw v8 103c-108c. this should help with valve stem seal longevity as heat cases the elsarisizers to evaporate more quickly out of seals chasing them to loose pliability and sealing. It’s a popular mod on the n62 to add a low temp thermostat to increase valve stem life. The normal n62/n63 has a 105c thermostat to improve fuel efficiency. I did it to my n62 add a 95c thermostat. Lots of threads on this mod. From https://www.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=1481006 |
